Child Nutrition Program
We strive to end childhood hunger by giving kids balanced and healthy food. This program takes effect whenever children take long breaks from school.
Heaven’s Windows puts great emphasis on our children’s nutrition programs. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and the Child and Adult Care Food Program/At-Risk Sites (CACFP) were established by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service to ensure that undernourished children receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Free meals that meet federal nutrition guidelines are provided at approved SFSP sites in areas with significant concentrations of low-income families.
The SFSP and the CACFP work together to provide free meals and snacks to children under 18 years of age, targeting areas where 50% or more children are eligible for the program. During the summer, the SFSP provides meals at community sites where children congregate.

CACFP/At-Risk sites also come up with various educational or enrichment activities delivered in a structured manner and supervised setting. These exercises are done after the end of the school day, on weekends, or on holidays during the school year.
